Happy Tuesday! First, a moment of silence: We killed Jolly SEO.

Why We Killed Jolly SEO

Our old website didn't match our work.

We've spent years building a team that obsesses over every client campaign. The site? It looked like it was built in a weekend. Worse, it was a hodge podge of added-on elements over several years.

I'm not joining the "SEO is dead" parade. SEO is alive and well.

But our clients come to us for earned linkbuilding, Reddit and Quora brand mentions, on-site content, technical SEO, and YouTube visibility for AI search. Calling that "SEO" didn't describe the full picture.

So, we re-branded. Jolly SEO is now Jolly Search.

Some people call what we do AEO. Some call it GEO. Undoubtedly, there is a massive SEO foundation.

The Great Refresh

Moving from jollyseo.com to jollysearch.com was not just a domain swap. It was a full technical SEO migration.

I personally went through 30+ checklist items. Honestly, I'm still completing some… and roping in Morgan to complete others haha.

• 301 redirects on every indexed page.
• Robots.txt updated.
• Sitemap regenerated and resubmitted in Search Console.
• Canonical tags repointed to the new domain.
• OG tags and structured data refreshed across every page.
• Internal links rewritten.
• Google Business Profile updated.
• Old backlinks checked for redirect chains.
• New page copy checks for previously ranking keywords…

If you're planning a domain migration, do not skip any of these. One missed canonical tag can split your authority across two domains. One forgotten redirect can tank a page that took years to build.

NGL, I actually enjoyed the process. There's something satisfying about a clean migration checklist with every box ticked. (Yes, I'm that guy.)
